The GSO International Competitiveness Development (UR-GE) Gaziantep Food Cluster is participat in the FOODEX Food Fair. As part of the international marketing activities, the Gaziantep Food Cluster under the Gaziantep Chamber of Industry (GSO) International Competitiveness Development (UR-GE) project is promoting Gaziantep and the production of participating companies at the FOODEX Food Fair held in Japan.

The fair delegation includes GSO Vice Chairpersons Emine Ferhan Sağım and Başar Küçükparmak, Board Member Ali Can Koçak, Deputy Secretary General M. Sermest Çapan, and company representatives.

The fair, which started on March 5 and  ended on March 8, hosts producers, distributors, importers, wholesalers, and retailers operating in the food sector from many countries around the world, as corporate and commercial catering companies. From our city, Gaziantep Food Cluster, nine companies are exhibiting their products at the cluster stand organized with GSO. These companies are Özmermer Un, Prof Sentetik Dokuma, Simaş Bulgur, Baharoğlu Tarım, Alesta Gıda, Elmacıpazarı Güllüoğlu Gıda, Güzel Gıda Maddeleri, Biriz Ambalaj, Ünal Sentetik Dokuma.

Company representatives are show their products to participants at the cluster promotion stand, conducting business meetings, and visiting the fair to closely observe late developments.

Making evaluations about the fair, GSO Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors Başar Küçükparmak and Emine Ferhan Sağım pointed out the importance of companies from Gaziantep taking part in the fair and said, “In an international organization where all parties of the food industry come together, Gaziantep has the opportunity to share its production and export power in the sector with representatives of different countries.” The productions made our companies attract great attention from the very first day. Though Gaziantep Chamber of Industry, we also support our companies and do our best to develop this process. GSO Gaziantep Food Cluster has an organizational power that has been select as a good practice example with its activities and received an award from the Ministry of Commerce year. We believe that we will the further increase the effectiveness of our food cluster with the FOODEX Food Fair held in Tokyo, Japan. They said: "We congratulate our participating companies and wish the fair to be beneficial.".

Tokyo Chief Trade Counselor Mukaddes Nur Yılmaz visited the cluster stand open by GSO for the first trade of the fair. GSO Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors Başar Küçükparmak and Emine Ferhan Sağım presented a plaque  Mukaddes Nur Yılmaz.

Gaziantep Food Cluster activities are carried out by GSO with the support of the Ministry of Commerce within the scope of Supporting the Development of International Competitiveness. Within the scope of the project, companies are entitled to benefit from trainings, consultancy activities, foreign marketing activities, sectoral trade delegations and procurement committe organizations organized by GSO. 75 percent of the cost of this structure, realized with GSO within the scope of the project, is supported by the Ministry of Commerce.
