MINISTRY OF TRADE AWARDS GSO
The Gaziantep Chamber of Industry (GSO) received the “Best Practice Example” award at the HİSER Conference organized by the Ministry of Trade.
The HİSER Conference, held at the Turkish Exporters Assembly Foreign Trade Complex with the participation of Minister of Trade Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat, aimed to share the experiences of cooperation institutions successfully implementing HİSER projects, disseminate best practice examples, and ensure that all provinces benefit from these projects.
Among the HİSER projects implemented to date, the GSO Gaziantep Software and Informatics Cluster HİSER Project was awarded in the category of “Best Needs Analysis.”
GSO was represented at the event by Vice President of the Board of Directors Başar Küçükparmak and Deputy Secretary General M. Sermest Çapan.
The “Best Practice Example” award was presented to Başar Küçükparmak by Minister of Trade Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat.
During the program, GSO Deputy Secretary General M. Sermest Çapan also delivered a presentation and shared experiences on GSO’s HİSER project.
Evaluating the award, GSO Vice President of the Board of Directors Başar Küçükparmak stated that they are determined to continue their efforts to increase the international competitiveness of companies through projects carried out under the leadership of the Ministry of Trade.
He noted that since 2011, GSO has implemented 20 projects—including 15 completed and 5 active—within the scope of the Ministry of Trade’s clustering strategy, covering sectors such as textiles, food, chemicals and plastics, machinery and metals, software, and informatics. Küçükparmak added:
“Through more than 80 activities carried out within these projects, we have significantly contributed to strengthening the export capacity and competitiveness of over 400 companies in international markets, with the support of our Ministry of Trade. I sincerely thank, first and foremost, our Ministry of Trade and our Minister Mr. Ömer Bolat for leading this meaningful organization, the esteemed ministry experts who supported us at every stage, the cooperation institutions across Türkiye that have carried out valuable activities with HİSER projects, and the companies that have successfully implemented these projects.”
ABOUT THE MINISTRY OF TRADE HİSER PROJECT SUPPORT
The HİSER Project Support is implemented within the scope of Decision No. 2015/8 on Supporting Foreign Exchange-Earning Service Trade. It supports the international competitiveness of companies operating in the service sector, through activities carried out by cooperation institutions within the framework of clustering and project-based approaches aimed at boosting exports.
In this context, since 2011, the Gaziantep Chamber of Industry has implemented 20 projects—including 15 completed and 5 ongoing—within the Ministry of Trade’s clustering strategy.
These activities have been carried out with the goal of increasing the export capacity of companies and strengthening their competitiveness in foreign markets.
The Gaziantep Chamber of Industry was also selected as a best practice example and awarded for three UR-GE projects in 2016, 2017, and 2024.

POWER UNION FOR TECHNOLOGY FROM MODEL FACTORY AND GAÜN TARGET TTO
GAÜN academicians will be assigned by Target TTO and will be able to provide training and consultancy services to companies under the coordination of Model Factory.

THE OFFICIAL OPENING OF THE MODEL FACTORY WAS HELD WITH THE PARTICIPATION OF MINISTER VARANK
The opening ceremony of Gaziantep Model Factory was held with the participation of Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank and Gaziantep protocol.
A presentation was made to the Minister of Industry and Technology Varank and the provincial protocol, who examined the production lines, technical infrastructure and the work done in the Model Factory, about the services provided by the center to companies and entrepreneurs on entrepreneurship, digitalization and lean production, the trainings and practices given to the companies.
GSO TOBB DELEGATES ATTENDED THE 76TH AND 77TH TOBB GENERAL ASSEMBLY ONLINE
At the opening of the General Assembly held over the video conference system under the chairmanship of TOBB Chairman M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, the late GSO Assembly Member and TOBB Delegate Mesut İşsever and the members who worked in chambers and exchanges and lost their lives were commemorated with mercy and prayer.
TOBB Delegates from GSO to the General Assembly; Adil Sani Konukoğlu, Adnan Ünverdi, Mustafa Topçuoğlu, Cevdet Akınal, Metin Erturhan, Mustafa Özgüler, Sami Konukoğlu, Metin Yıldırım Demir and Cemil Turgay Direkçi attended.
29 COMPANIES FROM GAZIANTEP ARE IN THE ISO 500 LIST
The results of Turkey's 500 largest industrial enterprises were announced.
Adnan Ünverdi, Chairman of the Board of Gaziantep Chamber of Industry (GCI), said that 29 companies from Gaziantep are on the list, according to the "Turkey's Top 500 Industrial Enterprises 2020 Research" announced by the Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ISI).
