Gaziantep Young Businessmen Association (GAGİAD) and Hatay Young Businessmen Association (HAGİAD) visited Gaziantep Competence and Digital Transformation Center (Model Factory) and examined the works carried out.

Visiting Gaziantep Model Factory, GAGİAD Chairman Cihan Koçer and the Members of the Board of Directors, and HAGİAD Chairman Serhan Rende and the Members of the Board of Directors, and GSO Chairman Adnan Ünverdi, GSO Board Member and Model Factory Project Manager Başar Küçükparmak, and Model Factor Director Yusuf Diler met.

During the visit, which the technical infrastructure and machinery of the Model Factory were examined; GAGIAD and HAGIAD members were informed about the advantages of the center for Gaziantep and the industry in the region, as well as the training and practices carried out for companies.

Speaking at the meeting held within the scope of the visit, GSO Chairman Adnan Ünverdi said that they aim to increase efficiency in the enterprises with the Model Factory and that they continue carrying out the trainings and practices for the companies in line with this goal. Noting that the most important issue for companies to increase their profit margins and to be more competitive is productivity in production, Ünverdi said, “Turkey is a competitive country that increases its exports. Likewise, when we look at the figures announced, our city of Ghazi continues to increase its exports despite all conditions but we need to increase these figures even higher. In addition to efficiency, digitalization is also of great importance for the sustainability of the current rise in our exports. Besides, another point we should pay attention to is the Green Agreement. If we cannot meet the necessary conditions in the coming years, we will have problems in exporting the goods we produce to Europe. In this regard, we have to work to make our companies ready. I would like to thank the Chairmans and the Members of the Board of Directors of GAGİAD and HAGİAD for their kind visits.”

Stating that Gaziantep contributes significantly to the Turkish economy with its industry and exports, GAGİAD Chairman Cihan Koçer said, “We continue to develop joint works and establish new collaborations with our institutions in order to increase the production potential of our city more. In this context, Gaziantep Model Factory, which we have visited and examined its works before, provides serious advantages to our regional industry and companies with its training and practices. When we look at the data, we see that Gaziantep Model Factory has increased both productivity and profits in enterprises. Stating that Gaziantep Model Factory is important not only for Gaziantep but also for other provinces in the region, HAGİAD Chairman Serhan Rende said that as young business people, they will closely follow the works carried out by the center in terms of lean production, energy efficiency and digital transformation and that they will start establishing cooperations.

GSO Board Member and Model Factory Project Manager Başar Küçükparmak explained the production techniques of the Model Factory and gave information about the improvements made against waste types. Noting that the center has reduced the costs in production with the trainings and practices, and thus making the companies more competitive, Küçükparmak added that the quality of the products produced and the production speed have increased.

The visit ended after the presentation of Model Factory Director Yusuf Diler about the center's trainings, practices, and its importance in the industry and production process.
